Who we are
Mark has over 19 years of industry experience, a degree in Financial Services and prestigious Chartered Status under his belt. Having joined Sovereign in 2009, he is now a Director as well as one of our Financial Planners.
Mark’s main areas of expertise include pensions, divorce and tax planning. He holds the pension transfer qualification, which allows him to advise clients with corporate pension structures. Mark also works closely with family lawyers on divorce cases and is an affiliate member of Resolution, the largest organisation of family lawyers in the UK. He is also a question writer for the Chartered Insurance Institute.
You’ll often find Mark out and about enjoying the great outdoors with his wife and two children. He is an avid sports fan, both playing and watching, and enjoys his voluntary roles as Vice Chair of a school governing body and football coach of a local junior football club.
What do Mark's clients have to say?
The important stuff
All regulated financial advisers must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and therefore appear on their register. You can find Mark’s entry here.
Furthermore, all advisers must have an up-to-date Statement of Professional Standing (SPS). This shows they are suitably qualified and have carried out the required amount of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). You should be wary of any advisers who refuse to provide copies of their SPS. You can click here to view Mark’s.
Mark in the spotlight
On an ideal weekend you can find me:
"Coaching football, dancing around the kitchen listening to Radio 6 or at Ashton Gate cheering on either Bristol City or Bristol Rugby."
My favourite holiday is:
"Anywhere with my family that’s warm, sunny and by the sea."
The three people at my dream dinner party would be:
"John Lennon, Russell Brand and Noel Gallagher."
The first album I bought was:
“Jimi Hendrix, Are You Experienced. I was seven at the time. I think the lady in Clarks who was fitting my school shoes thought I was a bit odd when I showed her my purchase!”
I turn the radio up when they play:
"Paul Weller, The Smiths or Oasis."
The three qualities that draw me to new people are:
"The ability to make me laugh, honesty and kindness."
The three small things that make my day better are:
"My daughter Molly, my son Stan and our cat, Max (well, most days)."
