Who we are
Mike has over 25 years’ experience in the profession and has been an adviser for the last 15 years. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.
Whilst working for a large accountancy practice, Mike was the trusted adviser to over 70 partners of the firm; working with them and their legal advisers on their personal financial planning. He therefore has a great deal of experience in advising self-employed partners of professional firms, and has also worked extensively with clients who are planning for, at or in retirement. Mike also holds the pension transfer qualification, which allows him to advise clients with Defined Benefit pensions.
Mike is a big sci-fi fan, and sadly enjoys attending Star Trek and Star Wars conventions from time to time. He has also encouraged his children, Neve and Finn, to become fans. Back in the day, Mike was a good golfer, representing Gloucestershire county for a number of years. He still plays golf and aspires to relive his past glories.
The important stuff
All regulated financial advisers must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and therefore appear on their register. You can find Mike’s entry here.
Furthermore, all advisers must have an up-to-date Statement of Professional Standing (SPS). This shows they are suitably qualified and have carried out the required amount of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). You should be wary of any advisers who refuse to provide copies of their SPS. You can click here to view Mike’s.
Mike in the spotlight
On an ideal weekend you can find me:
"Body boarding in St Ives with my family."
My favourite holiday is:
"Exploring somewhere new with great scenery. Recent trips to Glencoe and the Cairngorms have been stunning. "
The three people at my dream dinner party would be:
"Henning Wehn, Paul Merton and Miranda Hart."
The first album I bought was:
“The Ghostbusters soundtrack on vinyl – one of my favourite films at the time and some great tunes, honest!”
I turn the radio up when they play:
"Taylor Swift, Shake It Off – I used this as one of the dance tracks when I choreographed a flash mob."
The three qualities that draw me to new people are:
"A smile, openness and humility."
The three small things that make my day better are:
"Coffee, a new Casey Neistat YouTube video and dinner with my family."
