At work

Both a company Director and a Financial Planner, James has over 20 years’ experience in the banking and financial service industry. He has been an Independent Financial Adviser since 2003 and joined Sovereign in 2009.

James specialises in advising business owners and senior executives with their financial, tax and retirement planning needs. He also works in close partnership with other professionals, including lawyers, accountants and tax advisers, to deliver a streamlined service for our clients.

At home

James enjoys the outdoors and can often be found walking his two working cocker spaniels with his wife in the countryside. He is actively involved with his local cricket club, both as a player and an administrator, and enjoys watching football and rugby.

The important stuff

All regulated financial advisers must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and therefore appear on their register. You can find James’ entry here.

Furthermore, all advisers must have an up-to-date Statement of Professional Standing (SPS). This shows they are suitably qualified and have carried out the required amount of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
